| News September 1, 2002 CogniTech Corporation Wins Navy Phase II SBIR Contract to Further Development Chemical Sensor Simulation Environment Salt Lake City -- CogniTech Corporation was awarded Phase II contract N00014-02-C-0169, titled, "Simulating Detection System Output Data for the Development of Decision Support Systems." This continued effort will develop a generalized architecture, framework, and methodology, with a focus upon Chemical and Biological (CB) detection. It will enhance the fidelity of the simulated data reported to decision support systems by improving and extending the environment's support of atmospheric models, CB detector models, uncertainty measures, model performance metrics, and nesting and synchronization of simulations within an integrated software and hardware framework. This framework will provide distributed access to various forms of data and associated models. This end-to-end capability will permit, for the first time, rapid adaptation of detection systems to new threats in the field and unanticipated operating conditions. Dr. Jerome Soller, President of CogniTech, said, "This project will provide a new set of capabilities to support U.S. homeland defense, anti-terrorism, and military chem/bio defense efforts."
